The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first handset to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich,
but it's also its huge 4.65” display with a resolution of 720x1280
pixels that excite us. And now we have one more piece to the Nexus
launch puzzle – its UK release date. The Galaxy Nexus will land on
British land on Thursday, November 17th and will be sold through various
retailers.
Those include the Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, O2 and Three where the handset will be priced at nearly $880 (£549) off contract or at $72 (£45) a month with a contract.
“The
level of interest and anticipation surrounding the release of the
Galaxy Nexus has been fantastic. … We’re delighted to introduce the
Galaxy Nexus to the UK and are looking forward to seeing it in the shops
on 17th of November,” Samsung's UK and Ireland head of mobile, Simon Stanford said.
The
handset sports a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera
capable of recording video in 1080p. All of this is packaged in a pretty
thin body, measuring just 0.35” (8.94mm).
