A pioneer in Haute Couture mobile phones, today Christian Dior is launching the new Dior phone: a compact, high-performance luxury touch telephone. Easy and intuitive navigation and the perfect measurements for slipping into even the smallest purse. With its world of pictures and sounds, the new Dior phone is a marvel of elegance and highly sophisticated, expert craftsmanship.
A real work of art, a reflection of the Dior spirit “I wanted to be an architect,” said Monsieur Dior. He was one. The architect of the New Look, the silhouette that revolutionized his age. Today the Dior phone is a real architectural gem, with complex and intelligent constructions: 99 pieces assembled by hand in a French workshop where the finest and most precious materials – sapphire crystal, steel, gold, diamond, mother-of-pearl – combine with the subtleties of inlaid work and fine jewelry. A technical feat on a par with the Dior caning motif chiseled in the signature sapphire crystal to produce an incredibly luminous effect. Caning, one of the house’s famous codes, is reminiscent of the Napoleon III chairs on which Monsieur Dior’s clients sat during his first show in 1947.
Dior phone touch encapsulates Christian Dior’s heritage of luxury and expertise down to the tiniest detail. It is adorned in sapphire crystal in the couturier’s cult colors: Glamorous Black, Dazzling Red, Pure White, and Shanghai Blue. Another of the brand’s hallmarks, the Dior oval becomes animated each time a number is dialed. An exceptional object of this kind needed a fitting setting: the case for the new Dior phone is made of supple leather, topstitched with the caning motif in a nod to Dior fine leather goods.
Icons, sound effects… the Dior universe comes to life Dior phone touch takes you wherever the Dior spirit blows. Browse the menus and applications to discover the House of Dior’s world and the unique atmosphere of 30 Avenue Montaigne; a moving stroll through history and time, from the fifties of
Monsieur Dior to the present day. Even the Twitter, Facebook, Google, YouTube and Blogger icons are surrounded by a thin white line like the street nameplates in Paris.
Each function has a surprise in store. Camera, video, gallery, animations: each icon immortalizes on Polaroid a moment in Monsieur Dior’s life. The creative studio, fitting sessions, the backstage buzz: a journey into the legend and magic of the collections.
Everything is symbolic, even the sound effects. Each ringtone and touch tone has been exclusively composed by an audio designer. The titles and the rhythms have been designed to evoke the spirit of Dior. Muguet, New Look, Tapis Rouge, Montaigne… an immersion in the very essence of the House of Dior and its legendary years. Dior phone touch is a real privilege for those who love Dior and luxury.
A gem in the palm of your hand, an alter ego 103.1 x 50.3 x 12.8 mm, 137 grams: the compact new Dior phone has the perfect measurements for nestling in the palm of a woman’s hand. Elegant, intelligent and ultra-sophisticated, it is able to meet any desire for enhanced communication or information: what’s the latest on the stock market? What’s the weather going to be like? A Paris-Shanghai return trip? A work of art and incredible expertise, in which tradition and technology have pulled off their bold gamble…

Samsung Stratosphere: slider with support for LTE
Company Samsung Electronics, apparently preparing to release another smartphone based operating system Android. This device is called Samsung Stratosphere (SCH-I405), the Internet entered its picture taken, apparently, the press material. The device will be sold in the U.S. market operator Verizon Wireless, which provides services in cellular networks, CDMA and LTE. New supports standard fourth-generation LTE and is likely to be the first slider to the company of such networks.
There are some details about the smartphone, but for now they are not particularly large. Referred to the operating system Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, touchscreen, possibly performed by Super AMOLED Plus technology with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, and two cameras - a 5-megapixel and 1.3-megapixel front.
It is not clear what the processor uses the device, and from this, not least, depends on the model class and, of course, its cost. It is assumed that it could be worth $ 150 with contract.

Samsung Epic 4G Touch
Why is it that the upcoming US launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint -- but not Verizon -- feels a bit underwhelming? It must be because the global version of the handset is already seeing a refresh at this week's IFA show in Germany, while domestic consumers will likely have to settle for the older specs as the device is released over the coming weeks. Nonetheless, we'll have to live with the hand that we're dealt, and that means getting familiar with US variants such as the Samsung Epic 4G Touch, pictured above.
Originally scheduled to launch tomorrow alongside the Hercules on T-Mobile and "Attain" on AT&T (clearly that trio of trademarks turned out to be a red herring), weather conditions along the East Coast have forced a delay in the E4GT's debut. However, if that date on the press shots turns out to have some lifecycle significance for this model, we could be seeing an actual release in just over a week's time.

Galaxy S II USA 4.5-inch Display ??
It appears that a mister Tommy Thompson from all the way over at Google+ has done some legwork on the images of the Galaxy S II that have been released thus far. What Thompson has done is to take the dimensions as given in the FCC listing of the Epic Touch, aka the WiMAX version of the Galaxy S II being announced tomorrow, and adjusted the images of the original Galaxy S II and the new USA version accordingly. What he’s found is that, what do you know, the display on the USA release may well be the larger 4.5-inch display we’ve been hearing about in a LTE edition of the device.
Now we’re not thinking that this release will be LTE-enabled, but a 4.5-inch display certainly isn’t out of the picture. On the other hand, the icons appear to be larger on the now-larger of the two devices. Does this mean that the resolution will be the same? Does it mean that the FCC report was a farce? Does it mean that the people responsible for the graphic design in this set of devices made the display the wrong size?
So much to think about! Another thing we can hypothesize over is the processor size, the LTE version of the device having an upgraded 1.5GHz processor right out of the box. But again, this might not be that. We can hope though, that added to our long list of wants for this release on several carriers of course. We’ll be in NYC tomorrow to cover the Samsung event, letting you know ASAP everything we hear on the device or devices as they’re revealed. Be there!

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S
Xperia™ arc is my current favourite phone and it has almost been glued to my hand for six months now. Apparently I’m not the only one finding it attractive. Xperia™ arc was awarded with EISA award for best European camera phone back in August and has also won the prestigious red dot product design award. Today, in conjunction to the big IFA fair in Berlin, we are proud to present the new Xperia™ arc S – the fastest and most entertaining Xperia™ phone to date.
Xperia™ arc S comes with a 1.4 Ghz processor compared to 1 Ghz in Xperia arc. It also contains the new photo feature 3D Sweep Panorama presented last week . I’ve tried it out and it’s surprisingly cool! It’s easy to use to. You simply sweep the camera across the objects you want to capture and while you do it you’re guided in the phones camera interface. During the sweep movement the camera will take lots of pictures and then recompute them into a 3D picture. To view the picture in 3D you connect Xperia™ arc S to a 3D TV through the HDMI connector. We’ll try to provide you with a demo on how it works here soon, although in 2D:-)
Xperia™ arc S also comes with Facebook inside Xperia™ 2.0 out of the box. The most important updates from the current version of Facebook inside Xperia™ are that you’ll now be able share games and apps through Facebook, like music from FM radio and see the latest images uploaded by your friends in your phones gallery.

HTC Explorer Press Shots
HTC seems intent on building a phone for just about everyone, and the upcoming HTC Explorer -- nee HTC Pico -- appears to be targeted to either the casual or budget-minded user. With a rumored 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM, and five-megapixel camera, the Sense 3.5-skinned Explorer looks destined to fill the role currently occupied by the Wildfire line.
Explorer, powered by Gingerbread, should arrive in both black and blue, probably at nearly free on contract when purchased through a carrier. While there's a chance it will be introduced at HTC's NYC event tomorrow, we still anticipate that to focus on US-specific devices like the upcoming Rhyme (Bliss) and Vigor on Verizon. Either way, a fall release seems likely.

Flash Android Development
Mobile gamers must be excited to know about the tie up between Flash and Android. Yes, you heard it right. Adobe Flash player can be experienced on your Android. Adobe has recently declared that they are launching Flash 10.1 for Android 2.0 and above. With this technology evolved, the world of internet gaming will experience a vast change. There are a number of gaming platforms on the Internet, which required Flash, such as some Facebook games. These games could not be played on Android enabled devices until now. However, with Flash development for Android, definitely a faster and better gaming experience for the Android users will be delivered. The framework of Flash for the Android devices is known as AIR.
There are two ways that an Android developer may use Flash on a device:
1. The Android developers can utilize the existing Flash content into the Android App Development powered devices.
2. The developers can imbibe the Adobe Flash content through Android.
Advantages of Flash Android Development: Even though, the development of Flash Android is still in its beta testing phase, the users of Android have already recognized some of its unique facilities that it seems to stay here and win. There are many advantages of the development, which is visible to the Android users as well as to the avid gamers. However, the main advantages, which need to be specially mentioned, are as follows:
Speed: With Flash, you can have a faster gaming experience. Any game, which is developed with Flash Technology, runs a significant time faster on the Android powered set, compared to 3G iPhone or an iPad.
Compatibility: One advantage of Flash development is its compatibility with almost all gaming platforms. There are many games, which were developed with Flash and which were created when Android had not even existed, however, today they run on Android platform as well.
Accessibility: There are thousands of games, which essentially require Flash tools to run. Since the Android powered mobile users have been deprived so far from the Flash gaming experience on their handsets, the Flash Android development has bought a relief for them. Now they will not miss any game, be it Facebook gaming application or any other platform.
Screen: A whole new mobile architecture is makings its way with Android and Flash. The newly arrived Android enabled mobile phones such as Nexus One has a wider screen of 800*480, compared to 480*320 of 3G iPhone. Therefore, the users can experience better and clearer view of the games on the handset, though Flash has to upgrade itself a bit more to support games with more pixels.
Flash and Android together is definitely a great news! However, there is a lot more to Android development with Flash.

iPhone Vs Android Development - A Comparison
iPhone and Android... both of them are the most sought after smartphones of the generation. With these two smartphones, life is getting easier and smoother. However, for a developer, application development for these two smartphones is definitely a treat, since he can address a global audience with the apps. The comparison between Android and iPhone application development is as cited below :
- Programming language: iPhone app development language is Objective-C, which is a programming language based on C with some extensions on object-oriented versions such as interfaces, dynamic typing, classes, inheritance, messages and many more. On the other hand, android application development is based on Java. Many developers opine that Java is a no-brainer programming tool. For this reason, if you are a developer, who loves coding, iPhone application development might excite you more than android development.
- Platform comparison: With iPhone, finding functionalities is very difficult, while the case is quite opposite with android. iPhone application is quite closed, while android development is based on open source. To download the iPhone source code, you might need to resort to Google, but downloading android source code is easier and faster. In other words, android platform classes are predictable and consistent in terms of layout. For this reason, beginner development choice should be android rather than iPhone development.
- Programming model comparison between iPhone and Android application development: iPhone programming model is based on MVC design pattern. With this tool, building a User Interface is easier, since all the codes are orderly placed in the source code. On the other hand, the later supports multiple processes. Thus, a little complicated. However, both these platforms provide declaration of user preferences in XML. Android's XML pattern allows integrate custom user interface components. While with iPhone, it is an extensive job.
- Resources comparison between the two platforms: There are numerous resources for iPhone developers. There are videos, so that the developers can watch them carefully and employ them. On the other hand, android offers SDK with a proper guidance of API preferences. Many developers would say that android resources are more organized and suitable for all developers. Moreover, there is no clear and accurate NDA policy of Apple in terms of open source.
- Tooling comparison: In this section, both are almost the same. There are not many differences between their tooling systems in both these platforms. Tooling interface includes debugger, profiler, IDE, User Interface, and builder.

The front panel of the new iPhone in the photo
Apple has replaced the head, but not lifted the veil of secrecy over how to look and be named the next iPhone. It is not clear whether it will be five or iPhone iPhone 4S.
But the network has a photograph of the front panel of the prototype N94, which is reportedly in the same appearance as the current iPhone, 4 dual-core processor has the A5, which suggests that the version of the name of 4S is very plausible. It should be noted that the picture is visible inscription and date EVT1 March 3, 2011.
The abbreviation stands for Engineering Verification Testing 1, which means that it is an engineering sample, made in March of this year. Is this model the prototype of the apparatus, which will go into a series of impossible to say - the fifth-generation iPhone as long as we know only by hearsay. According to various sources, iPhone screen 5 will have a minimum of 4 inches and a metal housing made of aluminum to save weight, or this will be the design of the device iPhone screen 4 and from 4 to 4.2 inches, but much more difficult. The panel, which can be seen in the photo, has a diagonal of about 3.5-3.7 inches.
There is a similar anecdotal evidence on which the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 are two different models that will exist in parallel. In this version of the iPhone will 4S 4 dual-core processor, and the "real" fifth generation will not only be more efficient processor, but also bigger display, an 8-megapixel camera and a new body design. Perhaps this information is not related to reality, and photographed the panel - just a piece of cheap version of the iPhone 4 8 GB of internal memory.

Apple blocks Samsung from selling Galaxy tablet in EU
Apple Inc scored its most significant victory in its intellectual property battle against Samsung Electronics after a German court temporarily barred the Korean firm from selling its flagship Galaxy tablet in most of the European Union.
The court order comes a week after Samsung was forced to delay the Australian launch of its latest Galaxy tablet because of a separate lawsuit alleging Samsung infringed on a number of Apple's patents.
Apple has said Samsung's Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets "slavishly" copied the iPhone and iPad. It has sued in the United States, Australia and elsewhere. Samsung, whose tablets are based on Google Inc's Android software, has countersued Apple.
"There's no doubt the court decision will have an adverse effect on Samsung. Samsung is clashing with Apple in many places, which could result in a temporary fall in sales and increase costs related to litigation," said Lee Seung-woo, an analyst at Shinyoung Securities in Seoul.
Apple confirmed that a district court in the German city of Dusseldorf granted the preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
"It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging," said Apple's London-based spokesman Adam Howorth. "This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas."
The ban applies throughout the European Union, except the Netherlands, where a Hague-based court said separate hearings were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Apple would not say why it filed a separate case in the Netherlands.
"It's a strategy Apple has adopted to completely prevent Samsung from putting its tablet into the market place," said Nathan Mattock, an intellectual property lawyer at Marque Lawyers in Sydney.
Samsung's mobile unit, which includes handsets and tablet PCs, generated 30 percent of the technology giant's revenue in the second quarter. The bulk of the rest comes from memory chips and televisions, sectors where Samsung is the global leader.
Samsung, the world's biggest technology company by revenues said it would challenge the court decision.
Shares in Samsung, which raked in 154.6 trillion Korean won ($142 billion) in sales last year, ended 0.6 percent lower in a broader market up 0.3 percent.
RIGOROUS DEFENSE
"The request for an injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung," Samsung said in a statement.
"I think we will be rigorously defending our position," Younghee Lee, senior vice president of global marketing at Samsung's mobile business, told Reuters in New Delhi.
Lee, who was unveiling the Galaxy Tab in India on Wednesday, said Samsung would launch the Tab in Australia in September.
In a statement, Samsung Germany said it would file an objection immediately.
"Samsung will protect its intellectual property in Germany with legal measures. We will also actively continue to defend our rights worldwide."
Apple's move raises the stakes for Google, which has accused its biggest rivals of banding together to hamper its increasingly popular Android operating system, after it lost a bid to buy thousands of patents from bankrupt Nortel.
Without patents, companies' devices are vulnerable to challenges for royalties or, worse, demands from rivals to withdraw the products from the market place.
Samsung has been locked in a battle with Apple over smartphone and tablet patents since April. The Galaxy gadgets are seen as among the biggest challengers to Apple's mobile devices, which have achieved runaway success.
"I personally prefer the Galaxy tablet over the iPad because I do not want to be locked to any software. Because when you purchase an iPad, when you go for Apple or Mac products, you are actually tied to their software," said Nadja Ybanez, a saleswoman at an electronics retailer in Singapore.
Apple sold 14 million iPads in the first half of this year worldwide, compared with analysts' sales estimates of about 7.5 million units for the Galaxy Tab over 2011.
Some analysts said Android backers were likely to look for products from other companies.
"Many potential Galaxy Tab purchasers are committed Android fans, so are likely to look for alternatives that run the same operating system," said Tim Renowden, analyst for consumer IT at UK-based research firm Ovum. "This will benefit the likes of ASUS, Toshiba, Acer, Dell, Lenovo, Motorola, LG and HTC, among others, but the benefit will be diluted across multiple manufacturers."
Industry executives said Samsung could launch a new variation of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to get it on sale in Europe, as it plans to do in Australia, or settle the dispute by paying royalties to Apple.
"This will be an issue that will get settled between the two companies. Some deal will likely get made and then they will move on ," said Peter Elston, Singapore-based Asia strategist at Aberdeen Asset Management Asia, which owns Samsung shares.
In Australia, Samsung has agreed to show Apple an Australian version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 one week before its launch there, a Samsung spokesman said.
WEB OF LITIGATION
Apple is one participant in a web of litigation among phone makers and software firms over who owns patents used in smartphones, as rivals aggressively rush into the smartphone and tablet market.
Complicating things for the two tech giants is the pair's $5 billion-plus commercial relationship, which some analysts think might be at risk. Samsung, for instance, counts Apple as its biggest customer, making chips and other parts central to Apple's mobile devices.
"Samsung's collision with Apple in the mobile arena could have a spillover effect on other businesses such as chips," said Lee.
The well-reviewed Galaxy Tab 10.1 was only recently launched in Europe and is in the early stages of being rolled out. For now, the iPad is the market leader.
Competing products including Research In Motion's PlayBook and Motorola's Xoom have received lukewarm reviews, while Hewlett Packard's TouchPad is a late entrant in the market, which already has more than 100 devices, mostly running on Android.
A U.S. trade agency is also set to review Apple's patent-infringement complaint against Taiwanese phone market HTC Corp.
Some analysts say Samsung faces the challenge of moving beyond being a hardware company, clever at copying ideas, to becoming more creative and better adept at software at a time when consumer gadgets are getting smarter.
Brian White, an analyst with Ticonderoga, said Samsung was one of the few global companies with the ability to enjoy success in both the smartphone and tablet markets.
"However, if Samsung is violating Apple's IP (intellectual property) rights, we believe Apple could enjoy even further success in these markets in the coming years," White said in a note to clients.
Apple's approach was also not without risk, said intellectual property lawyer Mattock.
"One of the conditions of doing that is that if Apple is wrong it will have to pay Samsung a considerable amount of damages for all of its lost business and income that may have occurred in the period, so it's potentially quite a risky strategy," said Mattock.
The court order comes a week after Samsung was forced to delay the Australian launch of its latest Galaxy tablet because of a separate lawsuit alleging Samsung infringed on a number of Apple's patents.
